Scott Delius is admitted to practice law in Georgia and Tennessee, and the firm has the ability to serve clients throughout either state. 

Scott also serves our country as a Major in the Georgia Army National Guard, and he is an Afghanistan veteran.

ATTORNEY BIOGRAPHY

Scott Delius graduated from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1991, earning a Bachelor of Arts with Honors. At graduation he was awarded the Chancellor's Citation for Extraordinary Campus Leadership and Service.

After graduation, Scott obtained his Tennessee real estate license and worked for three years in real estate sales, marketing and appraisal.

Scott earned his law degree in 1997 from the University of Memphis, where he was a member of the Moot Court Board and a member of the Wagner labor law national moot court team.  After graduation he was offered a position as an associate attorney at one of Atlanta's largest and most respected litigation firms.  He exclusively practiced insurance defense litigation for four years in Atlanta before establishing the Delius Law Firm, P.C. in 2001.

The Delius Law Firm is based in Atlanta and handles a variety of civil litigation matters for individuals, businesses and insurance companies throughout the states of Georgia and Tennessee.

Scott answered the call to serve after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001 and joined the Georgia Army National Guard.  He volunteered for duty with the 41st Brigade Combat Team in Kabul, Afghanistan where he served as an advisor to the Afghan National Army from 2006 - 2007.

Scott helped the Afghans establish a military justice system which included training Afghan legal officers and establishing a military court.  He also organized humanitarian service missions that delivered food and clothing to needy Afghan civilians.

Major Delius has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2nd Award), Afghanistan Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal (w/M Device), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Training Ribbon and the NATO Medal. He has also qualified as a rifle sharpshooter and as a pistol marksman.

Major Delius currently serves as the Brigade Judge Advocate for the Georgia Army National Guard's 648th Maneuver Enhancement Brigade in Columbus, Georgia. He also serves as a prosecutor and as defense counsel in soldier discharge proceedings.

Scott is a civil mediator affiliated with Miles Mediation and Arbitration Services, LLC in Atlanta.  In 2010 he was nominated by his peers for membership in the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals - an association recognizing the top 5% of mediators in the state - for his outstanding alternative dispute resolution skills.  He has a great deal of courtroom experience, having successfully tried many civil jury cases to conclusion.

Scott is a former Fulton County Magistrate Court judge.  He serves on the Georgia Judicial Nominating Commission, and he has been selected twice for the "short list" of judicial candidates for the State Court of Fulton County.

Scott has received an AV® Preeminent™rating from Martindale Hubbell.  He is a member of the Atlanta Bar Association, the Lawyers Club of Atlanta and the Federalist Society.  Scott lives with his wife and son in Atlanta.
